Pipedrive to HubSpot: map the columns, import the CSV
Move contacts from Pipedrive to HubSpot: the export CSV columns matched to HubSpot’s import headers, renamed and fixed in one pass.
How the columns map
| Pipedrive column | HubSpot column | What changes |
|---|---|---|
Person - First name | First name | HubSpot reads the first name from a column called First name, without the Person - prefix Pipedrive adds. Or by handopen the Person - First name column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to First name and press Enter |
Person - Last name | Last name | The surname follows the same pattern: HubSpot’s column is Last name. Or by handopen the Person - Last name column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Last name and press Enter |
Person - Email (Work) | Email | Email is the column HubSpot needs to create a contact, and Pipedrive’s Work address is the one it should read. Or by handopen the Person - Email (Work) column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Email and press Enter |
Person - Phone | Phone number | HubSpot formats a phone number from its country code, so each number should start with + and the code. Or by handopen Health → Phone formats → Convert 4 (the button shows how many numbers it writes); each readable number is written as +[country code][number], and one it cannot read stays as written |
Person - Phone | Phone number | The header changes too: HubSpot’s column is Phone number. Or by handopen the Person - Phone column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Phone number and press Enter |

Do it in DocTransform
By hand: 5 stepsDocTransform: 1 sentence
- 1. Upload pipedrive_people.csv into DocTransform.
- 2. Type and press Send. Check the steps it adds; Undo takes them all back.
Write Person - Phone as E.164, then rename Person - First name to First name, Person - Last name to Last name, Person - Email (Work) to Email and Person - Phone to Phone number
Or by hand
Apply the fixes: open Health → Phone formats → Convert 4 (the button shows how many numbers it writes). Then rename the four headers, one by one: open the column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it and press Enter. Person - First name becomes First name, Person - Last name becomes Last name, Person - Email (Work) becomes Email and Person - Phone becomes Phone number.
- 3. Download the cleaned file from Export, ready for HubSpot’s import tool.
Save these steps once, then rerun them on your next Pipedrive export with one click.
Do it by hand in Excel or Sheets
- Open pipedrive_people.csv in Excel: choose Data → From Text/CSV, set File Origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8) and click Load.
- In row 1, change Person - First name to First name, Person - Last name to Last name, Person - Email (Work) to Email and Person - Phone to Phone number.
- Right-click the Phone number column header, choose Format Cells → Text and click OK so Excel keeps the +.
- Retype each number with its country code and no spaces, e.g. +34 600 123 456 as +34600123456.
- Choose File → Save As, pick CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv) and click Save.
Questions
- Can HubSpot take the Pipedrive export as it is?
- It can open it, but it will not match the columns by itself: Pipedrive writes Person - First name where HubSpot looks for First name, so each header has to be renamed first.
- Which country code does DocTransform add to a phone number?
- None of its own. Each number must already carry its country code; a number it cannot read stays as written, so check those cells before you import.
- Do I rename the columns again for the next export?
- No — save the steps once in DocTransform and rerun them on your next Pipedrive export.
