WooCommerce to Shopify: map the columns, import the CSV

Move products from WooCommerce to Shopify: the export CSV columns matched to Shopify’s import headers, renamed and fixed in one pass.

How the columns map

WooCommerce columnShopify columnWhat changes
NameTitle

Shopify calls the product name Title, and Title is the only column it requires for a new product.

Or by hand

open the Name column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Title and press Enter

SKUSKU

Both systems use the same header, so the SKU column stays as it is.

PublishedPublished on online store

WooCommerce writes 1 for published and 0 for private; Shopify reads true or false.

Or by hand

open Health → Yes/No spellings, pick true/false under Write them as → Convert 6 (the button shows how many values it writes)

PublishedPublished on online store

The header changes too: Shopify’s column is Published on online store.

Or by hand

open the Published column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Published on online store and press Enter

StockInventory quantity

Shopify counts stock in Inventory quantity, for a store with a single location.

Or by hand

open the Stock column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Inventory quantity and press Enter

Regular pricePrice

Shopify’s Price takes the number alone, without a currency symbol.

Or by hand

open the Regular price column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it to Price and press Enter

CategoriesProduct category

WooCommerce lists categories as text; Shopify’s Product category must be a label from its Standard Product Taxonomy, so you pick each one by hand.

    Do it in DocTransform

By hand: 7 stepsDocTransform: 1 sentence

    1. 1. Upload woocommerce_products.csv into DocTransform.
    2. 2. Type

In Published, write true for 1 and false for 0, then rename Name to Title, Published to Published on online store, Stock to Inventory quantity and Regular price to Price

and press Send. Check the steps it adds; Undo takes them all back.
      Or by hand

Apply the fixes: open Health → Yes/No spellings, pick true/false under Write them as → Convert 6 (the button shows how many values it writes). Then rename the four headers, one by one: open the column’s ⋯ menu → Edit column… → click the name at the top of the drawer, rename it and press Enter. Name becomes Title, Published becomes Published on online store, Stock becomes Inventory quantity and Regular price becomes Price. The categories are yours to pick by hand: DocTransform saves no step for them.

    3. 3. Download the cleaned file from Export, ready for Shopify’s product import.

Save these steps once, then rerun them on your next WooCommerce export with one click.

Do it by hand in Excel or Sheets

    1. Open woocommerce_products.csv in Excel: choose Data → From Text/CSV, set File Origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8) and click Load.
    2. Select the Published column and press Ctrl+H to open Find and Replace.
    3. Type 1 in Find what and true in Replace with, click Options, tick Match entire cell contents, then click Replace All.
    4. With the column still selected, type 0 in Find what and false in Replace with, click Replace All, then close the dialog.
    5. In row 1, change Name to Title, Published to Published on online store, Stock to Inventory quantity and Regular price to Price. Leave SKU as it is.
    6. Pick each product’s Shopify category from Shopify’s Standard Product Taxonomy if you want it imported.
    7. Choose File → Save As, pick CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv) and click Save.

    Questions

Can Shopify import the WooCommerce export as it is?
Not cleanly. Shopify reads its own product CSV headers, so Name, Stock and Regular price have to become Title, Inventory quantity and Price, and Published has to read true or false.
Does DocTransform match WooCommerce categories to Shopify’s?
No — it saves no step for that. Shopify wants a label from its Standard Product Taxonomy, so choose each category by hand.
Do I rename the columns again for the next batch?
No — save the steps once in DocTransform and rerun them on your next WooCommerce export.
