Questions

Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and checked by this page inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
What does it check?
The points Shopify's own help pages give for a products file: a Title column and the exact names of the columns (Continue selling when out of stock, Status, Fulfillment service, URL handle), a file saved as UTF-8, quotes Shopify can read, commas between the columns with the names on the first line, a Fulfillment service that is not blank, and the allowed values of Continue selling when out of stock. Where Shopify names a requirement but not what happens if you break it (Status, the values of Fulfillment service, two products with the same URL handle), the checker says "check these rows" instead of "will reject". Each one links to the page it comes from, with the day we last checked it.
Does it check my variants?
No. Shopify says nothing about how variants and their options are laid out, so it is not checked.
