Check your bank transactions CSV before you upload it to QuickBooks Online

Questions
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and checked by this page inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
- What does it check?
- The points Intuit's own help pages give for a bank transactions file: the 3-column (Date, Description, Amount) or 4-column (Date, Description, Credit, Debit) layout with no other columns, column names on the first line, commas between cells, one date format for every row, amounts with no currency symbol, thousands separator or decimal comma, zeros left blank, amounts under 12 digits, and the limit of 1,000 lines. Each one links to the page it comes from, with the day we last checked it. It doesn't check the Description column or the 350 KB file size: bank descriptions carry references Intuit's advice would strip, and a 1,000-line bank file stays far below 350 KB.
- Do I have to merge Credit and Debit into one Amount?
- No. QuickBooks accepts both layouts. If your file has Credit and Debit, the checker keeps them as they are; it renames them when your bank calls them something else, such as Deposits and Withdrawals.
